A letter to a friend.
My best friend's birthday just got over.
And she was not there to celebrate it with us.
So I just planned to write a letter.
Telling her about the things her friendship gave.
So here goes.
Dear Shylaja,
Last year, I never knew it was your birthday until you
started handing out chocolates.
This year, I would do anything to get you back
and celebrate your birthday with you.
Last year was awesome.
I got into the best of schools and along with it,
I got the best of friends.
Deepti, Varsha, and...
YOU.
I think we got to be good friends
because of the things we had in common.
We had the same sense of humour,
laughing over stupid things and
making the silliest jokes out of nothing.
We had the same taste in music.
We had the best time making remixes
for songs, adding our own lyrics!!
Remember that day we were supposed
to go to english lab????
Epic.
Almost everything has something connected to you-
from buckled shoes to movies.
The way you came to school,
the way you spoke with those hand gestures.
The way you accesorised yourself.
That wooden bangle you wore varying in colour each day.
Your favourite colour?
Purple.
You were also one of the most intelligent people in class!
You had such a kind and good heart,
never hesitating to help anyone,
and comforting people when they needed it.
All together, you were a -what to say- blessing on this Earth.
So maybe that's why God took you back.
You were too good to stay on Earth as a human.
I'm pretty sure, that wherever you are now,
you'll be having a good time and be surrounded by friends.
Wherever you are, and whatever you're doing,
you're still a part of all our hearts.
Just remember that.
I love you, Shylaja.
