Let's talk rainbows and unicorns

How do you describe happiness?

Is it the giddiness you feel when you get an extra piece of chocolate? The wide-toothed grin of a girl as she bounds towards you, pigtails flying behind her? Or the hug she almost bowls you over with after you offer her that chocolate piece?

It could be the rustling of leaves and chirping of birds on a sunny day. The gentle breeze fanning your face, as you bask in the warm sunlight. Or the beautiful colours that paint a vibrant picture around you.

Is it the adrenaline rush you get when you've climbed another mountain, or scored another goal? When you've finally overcome an obstacle, and your hands shake in relief as you face the world with a watery smile?

It could be the faint colouring of your cheeks when someone special compliments you. The tingling of your body starting from the toes moving all the way up, while your heart thump-thumps away rapidly.

There's nothing quite like it, is there? That warm, fuzzy feeling in your heart when you're with family or friends who make your sides positively ache with laughter. A mutual exchange of love. And you're at complete peace with yourself, if only for a moment.

You don't have to describe happiness. But if you absolutely had to, you could say it is akin to magic flowing through your veins.
